Set 1: Groups of coins less than, equal to and more than $1.00.
Set 2: Groups of coins less than, equal to and more than $2.00.
Set 3: Groups of coins and notes ($5.00 note only) less than, equal to and more than $5.00.

To play Count and Sort:
Place the three sorting cards on the table: less than $1.00, $1.00, more than $1.00. All the other cards are placed in a pile face down or in a box or bag. Select a card and count up the amount of money. Place the card into the appropriate group. When all the cards are sorted, the recording sheet can be filled in. This activity is great for individual work as well as partner and small group work. There are even enough cards (24 in each activity) to give one to each class member to do a class sort – each child counts up the amount on their coin card and places their card in the correct group.
